Julio embodies his vivacious Brazilian roots in everything he does. He’s a driven entrepreneur, humanitarian and strategist, always searching for the next adventure. He began his East African exploration in 2005. In 2008, he co-founded Nuru Energy East Africa, a multi-award winning social enterprise in the renewable energy sector.
He spent three years at UNDP Kenya as Program Manager in the Private Sector Development Unit, developing businesses across the country. In 2012, he took the position of COO at Farm Shop, a social enterprise focused on improving the productivity of Kenyan smallholder farmers. Need mentoring? Throughout his career Julio has raised over $6 Million in capital for various ventures. Julio holds a Bachelor’s in International Studies and Economics, a Masters Degree in International Development from the University of Oslo, a purple belt in jiu jitsu and the world’s largest collection of dog paintings.
